case studies > EPR Architects topping out event
EPR Architects approached us to light a new building in Victoria. The brief was to light the glass atrium in the centre of the building, but as lighting glass is not effective, we devised a new solution using very bright colour-mixing City Colour floodlights on all but the party floor. This solution meant that the rich, slowly changing colours would be visible not only in the atrium but also outside the building as guests arrived. We used EPR’s corporate orange to light the party floor, using uplighters instead of floods which could have dazzled the guests. Two powerful logo projections added to the impact.

Two novel items made this event unforgettable. The first was 150 metres of orange rope light fastened to the floor in parallel lines. This led guests from the lifts to the cloakrooms, then to a waiter with a tray of champagne and then to the bar. This not only looked great but also gave guests a brief tour of the building. The second item was a bar created with giant light boxes, fitted with orange filters and topped with mirror and table lamps, providing a centrepiece for the atmospherically lit bar room.

The MD of EPR Architects said, “I want all our buildings launched like this".
